Tuesday Kids Book Review: Otters Under Water by Jim Arnosky

Otters Under Water
by Jim Arnosky

My favorite thing about this book is the fact that it is a simple story about animals just being animals. It’s about baby otters swimming.

The words are simple, very simple. Perhaps bordering on too simple. It is good for my 17-month old. In fact, it actually has fewer words than a lot of board books that we’re read together. It held my four-year-old’s interest, but it isn't a book he’s been asking to read again.

As for the pictures in the book, both the plants and animals are drawn realistically which is always a plus as far as I’m concerned.

Overall, it’s a good, simple book for learning about animals.
